The ThinkSystem SR950 V3 server is designed for heavy, mission-critical workloads, such as SAP HANA, applications, databases, Big Data, business analytics, ERP and CRM applications, and virtualization.
This powerful 8U server consists of eight 4th Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable processor family CPUs for compute intensive workloads and delivers up to 172% higher performance improvement over the first-generation system.
Maximum performance and reliability
Core business workloads require systems that can provide maximum performance and continuous availability. With increased performance across CPU, memory, storage, and I/O, the SR950 V3 expands on industry-standard technology to establish new thresholds of performance.
Incorporating eight 4th Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors, the ThinkSystem SR950 V3 supports up to 32TB of memory and 480 processing cores in 8U of rack space. Featuring multiple levels of resiliency to protect data, the server is built to ensure continuous operation and deliver “always-on” reliability.

Designed for maximum performance, the ThinkSystem SR950 V3 server is ideal for the most demanding SAP HANA deployments, providing superior capability and greater business value. This server allows organizations to make faster, more informed decisions, even with escalating data loads. Compared to the ThinkSystem SR950, the SR950 V3 provides:

- 33% larger SAP HANA DB
- 63% increase in bandwidth supports larger SAP HANA appliances
By networking nodes together, it is simple to establish multi-node, scale-out setups that enable greater SAP HANA memory capacities. With this modular approach, you may expand your infrastructure along with your SAP HANA environment.
Furthermore, the Lenovo solution does away with the frequently necessary SAN storage by integrating high availability and automated failover functionality.
Efficient deployment, management, and security
All ThinkSystem servers have an internal management engine called Lenovo XClarity Controller that is intended to standardize, streamline, and automate core server management activities. Through the XClarity Controller, alerts may be exposed to the Lenovo XClarity Administrator, VMware vCenter, and Microsoft System Center. By allowing you to take the necessary steps ahead of potential problems, these alerts improve server uptime and application availability.
Platform Firmware Resiliency (PFR) and Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0 are also included in the Root of Trust (RoT) module to further secure and authenticate the system. These modules aid in preventing unauthorized access to important platform subsystems by spotting unauthorized firmware updates, recovering corrupted images to a known-safe image, and monitoring firmware to make sure it has not been compromised.
