Abstract

This Lenovo Validated Design (LVD) presents a high-performance on-premises AI data platform that combines Lenovo ThinkSystem compute, NVIDIA GPU-accelerated infrastructure, Cloudian HyperStore object storage, and Cloudian AI Data Platform (AIDP) services to enable scalable, enterprise-grade AI workloads. HyperStore provides a durable, S3-compatible storage foundation, while AIDP adds AI data services for ingestion, preparation, indexing, and retrieval of unstructured enterprise data. Together, the solution enables organizations to operationalize documents, images, logs, audio, and video for retrieval-augmented generation, analytics, and other data-intensive AI applications while maintaining data sovereignty, security, and resilience.

Validation testing confirms reliable end-to-end interoperability and sustained throughput using Object Storage over TCP across the compute, storage, and networking layers, demonstrating predictable performance, linear scalability, and consistent behavior under parallel access conditions. The architecture also supports RDMA-accelerated data paths and NVIDIA GPUDirect Storage for low-latency GPU-to-storage transfers, offloading system memory and CPU resources.

This validated blueprint reduces deployment complexity and accelerates time-to-value for enterprises deploying high-performance AI infrastructure on-premises.
